What it is & key features

The OneKey Lite is described as a recovery-phrase backup card rather than a full hardware wallet with transaction signing.
Key specs & features from the manufacturer:
- EAL 6+ certified secure chip.
- NFC (near-field communication) for backup/restore, no metal contact points.
- Waterproof and tear-resistant card form-factor.
- Self-destruct / data wipe after multiple (10) incorrect PIN attempts. From the product page:
- Price: US$ ~25.90.
- It supports backup only for the OneKey app and OneKey Pro wallet. “Currently only supports OneKey App and OneKey Pro.”
- “Restore your wallet without typing one word. Scan. Set PIN. Backed up.”

⚠️ Important caveats / things to be aware of

It is not a full hardware wallet device where you generate keys on-device and sign transactions independently (at least according to some reviews). For instance, the review at WalletScrutiny says:
“The device is not capable to generate or use private keys for signing meaning that it can only store a plain key which has to pass through other devices unencrypted.”
Because of the above, it may not provide the same security guarantees as a device that fully isolates private key operations.
It appears to be designed mainly for backup of recovery phrases (seed phrases) rather than full transaction management.
Compatibility is limited: According to the spec, you must use the OneKey App + OneKey Pro hardware wallet ecosystem. If you use another brand of wallet/hardware, it may not be fully supported.
As with all crypto devices: having strong backup procedures, secure storage of PINs and seed phrases, and trusting the supply chain are critical.

Is it a good choice for you?

Already use the OneKey App / OneKey hardware ecosystem and want a robust, durable backup card for your seed phrase.
Want a backup solution that is durable (water-/tear-resistant) and relatively low cost.
Are comfortable with the fact that the card is just the backup, and you will rely on the main wallet hardware/app for transaction signing.

Less ideal if you:

Use another hardware wallet brand or ecosystem and want cross-brand compatibility.
Are looking for a device that handles full key generation + signing entirely offline in a hardware-secure way.
Want a wallet with on-device screen and full transaction verification (this card doesn’t appear to provide that).
Don’t feel comfortable relying on NFC/phone-app interactions for seed backup/restore.

The OneKey Lite looks like a very good backup card solution for users already inside the OneKey ecosystem who want a durable, secure way to backup their seed phrase. For users needing a full-featured hardware wallet (generation/signing of transactions, full device isolation), you may want to consider something more traditional (screen, buttons, USB, etc).
